Discount Thoughts is the personal weblog of Michael Clarkson. I am a researcher at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Brandeis University, where my work focuses on the interplay between protein dynamics, catalysis and allosteric regulation. Of the three blogs at this site, Discount Thoughts is intended to be the catchall for my posts on politics, books, the environment, or whatever catches my fancy. This is a personal blog and does not represent the opinions of HHMI, Brandeis, or any other entity besides myself.
