I noticed this on the back of the Domino’s sugar box in the lunch room on my floor:

Sugar is a 100% natural simple carbohydrate. Carbohydrates are an important part of any balanced diet. Sugar contains no fat or cholesterol and has 15 calories per teaspoon.

So yes, someone is trying to argue that sugar is a health food, now. Kids, take note!

  1. I love how the argument is just “we are stating three facts that are pretty much correct” — allowing for the vagueness of ‘balanced diet’ — and then letting the reader draw a poor conclusion since they know exactly what misinformation the reader is fed on a daily basis about food.

  2. My absolute favorite part of this is the line about fat and cholesterol. Because sugar is good for your heart… except for, you know, the diabetes.
